What is a Paid Neighbor?

Paid Neighbor is a person who lives next to, or in proximity of, a person with a disability and provides support when needed. The Paid Neighbor serves as an “on-call” support. The Paid Neighbor is contracted to provide person-centered services to assist the individual to live an independent life. A Paid Neighbor offers a balance between independence and support for people of diverse abilities.
