The Recreation Supervisor would run AIM’s Recreation programs in the Community Habilitation and Respite Department. The Recreation Supervisor will support during programs as well as work alongside the manager to find additional staffing for programs. The applicant will be able to effectively communicate with parents/guardians, staff and people supported. The applicant will demonstrate the organizational skills needed to effectively run the Recreation programs. The applicant will be responsible for assisting with the following programs as needed:

  • After School Program
  • Music Therapy (contracted out by a licensed instructor)
  • Art Exploration (contacted out by a licensed instructor)
  • Teen and Adult Skills Based Program
  • Sports Based Programming
  • Children’s Recreation
  • Teen and Adult Recreation
  • Summer Day Camp Programming

  • High School Diploma\GED required. Associate’s Degree and/or further education preferred; related background/experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • One (1) year practical experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Ability to exhibit and maintain a professional kind, courteous, and patient manner always
  • Ability to work independently, organization skills, reliability in decision making
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Lifting/transferring minimum of 50 lbs.
