Meet Reina; A student at Skidmore College, who recently joined the AIM Services, Inc. team as an intern for the summer. As a Psychology major and Dance minor, Reina stood out as a person with an open mind and heart, who would be a great addition to the AIM Services team.

Reina began her internship working with Nick Miner, Director of Behavioral Services, to develop a week long yoga retreat to train staff on special techniques for how to teach yoga to people with disabilities. “Working as an intern this summer has really opened up my mind about previously existing ideas of what it means to work in Human Services”, said Reina.

As the summer continued, Reina’s internship transformed. After the yoga retreat, she began working with the Friday Night Owls program to provide additional behavioral supports.

“This internship has shown me that people are people, and some of us just need a little extra, and that’s certainly what AIM does for the individuals that they support,” said Reina.

“To be perfectly honest, this internship has really shifted my ideas about what my future might look like, and perhaps my path will be changing”, said Reina.
